Abstract

ABSTRACT The dynamics of bullying within Islamic boarding schools are intricately intertwined with patterns of social relationships and student character development, thereby demanding sustainable guidance patterns. This study specifically aims to describe and interpret the efforts of asatiz in building a bullying-free pesantren environment at Pondok Pesantren Putri Hasan Jufri from the perspective of Albert Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were gathered from 6 asatiz caregivers and 10 female students selected via purposive sampling, alongside an analysis of 8 governance documents. Data collection utilized interviews, observations, and documentation, which were analyzed interactively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The research findings are mapped into six integrated preventive practices, encompassing the provision of exemplary behavior, delivery of empathetic advice, strengthening of student-to-student relations through mushafahah, encouragement of openness, willingness to listen, and cultivation of self-confidence through khitobah activities. Viewed from the social cognitive framework, these practices articulate the mechanisms of observational learning, modelling, reinforcement, self-efficacy, and reciprocal determinism in shaping a safe and inclusive social climate. This study concludes that bullying prevention is deeply rooted in an integrated mentoring ecosystem that consistently combines behavioral examples, dialogic communication, and the reinforcement of student mentality.
