Study on diffusion behavior of synchronous grouting slurry based on transparent soil experiment and numerical simulation
Abstract
The invisibility of backfill grouting poses challenges to studying grout diffusion, which remains largely theoretical. Based on the optimal asphalt-rubber grout mix, this chapter investigates grout diffusion through model tests and numerical simulations. First, a transparent soil model test was designed based on similarity theory. The viscosity of the optimal grout was measured, and epoxy resin and UV resin were selected as analogous materials based on the viscous force criterion to observe diffusion patterns. Second, a numerical model was established using COMSOL to simulate grout movement and diffusion from the injection point into the shield tail void. Finally, the results were compared to verify consistency between the model test and numerical simulation.
