THE VALUE DIMENSION OF THE MODERN SOCIOCULTURAL SPACE: ORTHODOX AND SECULAR APPROACHES TO SOCIAL CONSOLIDATION
Abstract
The article analyses, from a culturological perspective, the problem of value relativism in the modern sociocultural space and substantiates the need to appeal to traditional spiritual and moral guidelines as a cultural constant that ensures the stability of identity. The author examines Orthodox and secular types of value consciousness as two subcultures within the unified cultural field of Russia, revealing their ontological differences (absolute vs. costructed) and points of semantic intersection – the shared recognition of morality as a condition for the integrity of the individual and society. Special attention is paid to the mechanisms of cultural transmission: revealing the Christian foundations of values in literature, art, theatre, as well as through socially significant holidays, the media, and modern digital technologies. It is concluded that the revival of traditional values is possible only as a free cultural choice of society, and Orthodoxy acts not only as a historical source but also as an effective factor in cultural continuity and consolidation of Russian society.
