Abstract

This study uses bibliometric analysis of journal papers published between 2001 and 2025 to investigate the state of the research on technology-related foreign language anxiety (FLA). 224 articles that were indexed in the Scopus database were included in the data. This study used the Bibliometrix package in R to examine publishing patterns, top journals, authors, and institutions, records of international collaboration, and the thematic structure of the field using bibliometric performance indicators and scientific mapping approaches. The findings indicate a consistent and incredibly rapid rise in publications during the past ten years. The majority of the research field's progress is published by a small number of writers and institutions in a limited number of journals. Although China now accounts for the majority of articles geographically, extensive international collaborative networks are still limited and in the early stages of development. Research focus has clearly changed throughout time, as seen by thematic and keyword analysis. While computer-assisted language learning and technology-enhanced learning environments have historically been the focus of education technology research, more recent literature shows a growing interest in artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, and data-informed digital learning contexts. Foreign language anxiety is the subject of an increasing amount of study, which typically places it in positive psychological contexts and focuses on its relationship to motivation, self-efficacy, and communication willingness. These findings will help better understand the origins of technology FLA research and how it is evolving. They can also provide references for upcoming investigations into the potential effects of digital technologies on language learners' emotions.

A decade of research on technology-mediated English language proficiency enhancement: A bibliometric analysis

Background and Purpose: This bibliometric analysis study provides a detailed analysis of the landscape of research on technology-mediated English language skills teaching and learning over the past decade. The goal is to shed light on the most popular subjects, prolific authors, publications, and countries involved. By examining 209 documents retrieved from the Scopus database from 2014-2023, this study aims to reveal significant trends and insights into the evolution of technology-mediated teaching and learning processes. Methodology: The study utilises bibliometric analysis, with data collection conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. It employed tools such as VOSviewer, Excel, and Tableau. The research involves quantitative metrics to graphically represent publication trends, country contributions and collaborations, prolific authors, and recurring research themes. Findings: The analysis shows a significant rise in technology-mediated English language teaching publications since 2021, led by the United States, China, and Malaysia. Key topics include e-learning, communication skills, computer-assisted teaching, pandemic's impact, speech recognition, and teaching, highlighting central themes and collaborative networks. Contributions: It highlights critical trends and areas of focus in technology-mediated English language education. It underscores the importance of prioritising research on technological media in language education and suggests future research directions to enhance English language proficiency, particularly speaking skills. Bibliometric and Science Mapping Analysis of Research on Social Studies Education for Students with Special Needs (2000-2024)

Introduction: Social studies education for students with special needs has become an increasingly important field of research as inclusive education advances. However, the temporal development of scientific production, prominent actors, and collaboration structures in this field have not been investigated comprehensively. This study aims to reveal the structural and trend-related characteristics of the field by analyzing the bibliometric properties of research published in this domain.Method: This study was a review based on bibliometric analysis. Publications indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection and published between 2000 and 2024 were included in the analysis. The literature search was conducted on March 19, 2025. Bibliometric analyses were carried out using the Bibliometrix package and VOSviewer software. Publication and citation trends, as well as country, institution, and author productivity and collaboration networks, were examined.Findings: The findings indicate a significant increase in publications over the past decade and reveal that scientific output is concentrated within a relatively small set of countries, institutions, and authors. Collaboration networks among authors and countries display a structure organized around central cores.Discussion: The results suggest that knowledge production in the field has not yet reached a fully integrated structure. Increasing international and interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging research conducted across diverse educational contexts, and diversifying studies focused on inclusive social studies education are identified as key strategies to enhance the field’s scientific visibility and impact.

Mapping Library and Information Science Research in Sri Lanka: A Bibliometric Study of the Sri Lanka Library Review (2020–2025)

Bibliometric studies play an important role in evaluating the growth, structure and scholarly output of academic journals. The present study is a bibliometric survey of the Sri Lanka Library Review (SLLR), a journal published by the Sri Lanka Library Association, between 2020 and 2025. The study analysed 55 full research articles and two abstracts published in twelve issues. The main indicators examined were annual publication output, authorship and collaboration patterns, article length, reference use, language of publication, institutional affiliation and readership on the Sri Lanka Journals Online (SLJOL) platform. The findings show that SLLR maintained a regular publication record during the study period, with an average of approximately nine research articles per year. Single-authored publications accounted for 52.63% of the total output, while multi-authored publications accounted for 47.37%, resulting in a Degree of Collaboration of 0.47. Most articles were between 16 and 20 pages in length, and the majority cited between 11 and 30 references. English was the dominant language of publication (68.42%), followed by Sinhala (19.30%) and Tamil (12.28%). Article view data indicated measurable readership through SLJOL, with most articles receiving between 200 and 399 views during the data collection period. The University of Colombo was the highest contributing institution. The findings demonstrate that SLLR is an important national journal for Library and Information Science research in Sri Lanka and has the potential to further strengthen its scholarly visibility, research collaboration and multilingual contribution.

A 20-year evolution study of digital music communication (2004-2024): Knowledge mapping and bibliometric analysis based on SCI/SSCI/A&HCI

Artificial intelligence has exerted a profound impact on the music industry, with digital music communication emerging as its representative core topic. To fill the research gap in comprehensive bibliometric reviews of this field, this study searched for SCI/SSCI/A&HCI-indexed articles on the theme of “digital music communication” from early 2004 to late 2024, screened literature following PRISMA standards, and finally obtained 173 sample articles. Using bibliometric tools VOSviewer and CiteSpace, this study conducted a comprehensive knowledge mapping analysis based on publication quantity, journal distribution, core authors, and hot topics. The visualized bibliometric analysis and review results aim to provide references for researchers and practitioners in related fields. The results show that research in this field has entered a mature stage, with fluctuating growth in the number of publications. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia are the main research forces, but a stable author collaboration network and journal system have not yet been formed. Research hotspots focus on three clusters: the sociocultural impact of digital music technology, educational applications of digital media, and information communication literacy. The development context has gone through a three-stage evolution from basic exploration of information literacy to technical education applications, and then to multi-field integration of socioculture.

The Use of Technology to Improve the Quality of Education by Indonesian Researchers in Scopus Database: A Bibliometric Analysis

This study aims to examine research trends and developments related to the use of technology for improving educational quality by Indonesian researchers through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications. A total of 617 documents were retrieved through a PRISMA-based screening procedure and analyzed using Biblioshiny (R) and VOSviewer. The findings indicate a substantial increase in publication output between 2019 and 2025, reaching its highest level in 2025. Padang State University recorded the highest affiliation occurrence in the dataset, while Habibi Akhmad was identified as the most productive author with the highest local h-index. The International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning emerged as one of the leading publication sources, recording the highest local h-index among journals in the dataset. Highly cited publications were predominantly associated with the "Technology Acceptance Model" (TAM). Keyword and thematic analyses revealed the continued prominence of “Educational Technology”, “Digital Learning”, and “Higher Education”. Overlay visualization identified “Machine Learning” and “Digital Competence” as emerging themes, while “Mathematics Education” and “Instructional Design" demonstrated increasing research attention in recent years. These findings highlight the rapid growth and diversification of educational technology research in Indonesia and provide valuable insights for future research and policy development toward achieving quality education.
