Abstract
PFA was delivered mainly in the flower configuration until complete regional coverage of the highlighted areas, avoiding gaps between targeted areas and/or anatomical boundaries. If AF persisted, re-mapping and further ablation of the new highlighted areas could be performed. AF termination was defined as direct restoration of sinus rhythm (SR) or organization into atrial tachycardia (AT) followed by AT ablation. The external comparator was drawn from the France PFA registry (NCT06497933) and restricted to patients with persAF who had undergone PVI plus PWI using the pentaspline PFA catheter alone. In all of them, PVI and PWI were confirmed at the end of the procedure using mapping and pacing from the pen-taspline catheter. Propensity score matching (age, sex, AF type, LA dilation, rhythm at onset, CHA 2 DS 2 -VA) yielded a PVI + PWI reference group. Follow-up comprised 12-lead ECG and 24 h Holter at 4 months and 1 year, with additional testing if symptomatic; monitoring was identical in both groups. The primary endpoint was freedom from any atrial arrhythmia (>30 s) at 12 months after a single procedure, without a blanking period.
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia. While pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) remains the cornerstone of AF ablation, the optimal method for confirming complete acute isolation remains uncertain. This study evaluated the diagnostic value of pulmonary vein (PV) pacing compare...

Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) remains the cornerstone of interventional therapy for atrial fibrillation (AF). The introduction of pulsed field ablation (PFA) has further advance PVI techniques. This novel energy modality has demonstrated comparable efficacy and improved safety profile compared with radiofrequenc...

BACKGROUND
Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is increasingly used for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). Limited real-world data exists regarding safety and efficacy of PFA in Australia.
METHOD
We conducted a retrospective analysis of consecutive patients undergoing de novo PFA for paroxysmal or persistent AF a...

Prior studies have reported a significant association between early (ER) and late recurrence following catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, there is limited data on the factors contributing to ER post-pulsed field ablation (PFA). We aimed to assess the link between extended ablation and ER in...

Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) with its characteristic high tissue-selectivity, has recently emerged as a promising alternative to the conventional radiofrequency ablation for the management of atrial fibrillation (AF). This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of two systems using either a pentaspline or a latti...

Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is the standard catheter-based treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF). Due to its safety profile and efficacy, pulsed field ablation (PFA), a non-thermal energy, has been increasingly adopted as the default strategy across many centers. We aimed to analyse the real-world efficacy an...
