Abstract
This study examined the effect of job satisfaction on sustainable productivity among academic staff of public universities in South-East Nigeria, focusing on physical working conditions, and teamwork. A descriptive survey design was adopted and structured questionnaires were administered to 400 academic staff across selected universities in South-East Nigeria. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Findings revealed that physical working conditions (B = 0.409, Beta = 0.814, p = 0.003) and teamwork (B = 0.788, Beta = 0.724, p < 0.001) had significant positive effects on sustainable productivity. The study concluded that job satisfaction factors are key determinants of sustainable productivity and recommended improved working conditions; University management should prioritize creating a conducive physical workspace, ensuring the availability of adequate resources, modern technological tools, and a safe working environment. Regular maintenance of facilities and investment in digital infrastructure can further support staff efficiency and productivity.
