Digital Learning Media in Islamic Religious Education: A Systematic Literature Review in Indonesia
Abstract
This systematic literature review examines the trends, challenges, and future directions of digital learning media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) across Indonesia. Following PRISMA guidelines, the study synthesizes articles published between 2022 and 2026 from Scopus, Sinta, and Google Scholar databases. Findings indicate significant growth in LMS adoption, interactive multimedia, blended learning, and AI/VR/AR integration, reflecting a paradigm shift toward personalized and flexible learning. However, persistent challenges encompass infrastructure disparities, limited teacher digital competence, content validity concerns, and digital ethics issues. The study proposes Value-Embedded Digital Pedagogy (VEDiP) as a future framework emphasizing the integration of technological advancement with Islamic spiritual and moral values. These findings offer practical implications for educators, policymakers, and researchers seeking to develop adaptive digital learning environments that balance innovation with the foundational principles of Islamic education.
