Abstract
ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the evidence of content and semantic validity of a nursing consultation protocol aimed at the care of preterm infants after hospital discharge. Methods: Methodological study. In the content validation stage, nurse experts with experience in neonatology were selected. After the modifications to the protocol suggested by the experts, semantic validation was carried out with the target audience, composed of nurses working in primary health care. Results: Eleven experts participated in the content validation, in which the protocol received 70.0% full recommendation and 30.0% recommendation with modifications. In the semantic validation, 30 nurses participated, and the global evaluation showed a full recommendation rate of 93.3% and 6.7% recommendation with modifications. Conclusions: The protocol demonstrated satisfactory validity evidence, indicating that it can be considered an appropriate tool for outpatient follow up services for preterm infants and for primary health care.
