Abstract

OASYS 2.0 (OrAnge SYnchrotron Suite) is the new release of the widely adopted, open-source software suite for x-ray optical simulations and synchrotron virtual experiments. It preserves the defining OASYS paradigm: a visual, workflow-based interface built on the Orange ecosystem, where sources and optical components are interactive widgets connected by links carrying beam data, while modernizing the underlying implementation with an updated canvas and widget infrastructure and revised, public cross-platform installation pathways for macOS, Linux, and Windows. OASYS 2.0 remains an extensible container: capabilities are delivered through Add-ons, so multiple calculation engines can coexist and be compared within one workspace, including SRW, XOPPY, and the new, fully Python-native SHADOW4. Workflows can be exported as reproducible Python scripts for batch studies and scalable execution. By unifying mature backends behind a improved, consistent GUI, OASYS 2.0 reinforces its role as a platform for accurate, reproducible simulation and as a foundation for emerging digital-twin and AI-assisted optimization workflows.
