TL;DR

The slowly progressing isolated amnestic profile, medial temporal–predominant neurodegeneration, high CSF NfL level, and persistently negative AD biomarkers supported the diagnosis of LATE and should be actively considered in elderly patients with a hippocampal-type amnestic syndrome and negative AD biomarkers.

A-85: Neuropsychological Features of Suspected Primary Age-related Tauopathy: A Case Study

Objective: Objective: Primary age-related tauopathy (PART) is a neuropathologic condition characterized by little to no amyloid plaques but positive medial temporal neurofibrillary degeneration (A-;T+). Approximately 20-25% of autopsy subjects over 85 years old met this criterion (Bell et al., 2019). PART is associat...

A-76: When Biomarkers and Cognition Disagree: Clinical Implications of Amyloid Positivity Without Cognitive Impairment

Objective: Advances in amyloid biomarkers, including positron emission tomography and cerebrospinal fluid or blood-based assays, have made it possible to detect Alzheimer’s disease pathology earlier. However, there are increasing cases in which biomarker positivity does not align with neuropsychological findings. Pat...

Case Report: Longitudinal evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid Alzheimer’s disease core biomarkers in a case of refractory late-onset epilepsy of unknown etiology

In recent years, late-onset epilepsy of unknown etiology (LOEU) has increasingly been recognized as a risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other forms of dementia. We present a case of refractory LOEU with progressive cognitive decline, longitudinally evaluated over more than 20 years using neuropsychological t...

Too early for LATE? Age at onset is associated with the clinical and neuroimaging expression of limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 pathology in Alzheimer's disease

Limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy neuropathologic change (LATE-NC) frequently co-occurs with Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology and has been studied mainly in older populations. We examined its frequency and expression in 196 individuals with autopsy-confirmed intermediate-to-high AD neuropathologic...

Case Report: Value of MR relaxometry and spectroscopy in multimodal imaging characterization of limbic encephalitis in systemic sclerosis

Although the unilateral conventional imaging findings did not meet the bilateral mesial temporal criterion required for definite autoimmune limbic encephalitis, MR relaxometry revealed bilateral temporomesial abnormalities, this case highlights a rare presentation of antibody-atypical limbic encephalitis in the setting...

Regional atrophy and hypoperfusion mediate the association between affective symptoms and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease.

OBJECTIVE Affective symptoms are common and associated with poor cognitive outcomes in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD); however, their underlying neural correlations remain poorly understood. METHODS This study included 105 patients with AD. Patients were classified into an AD with affective symptoms (AD-A) gr...
