Abstract
Existing approaches to sulfoximine N-alkylation rely on N-nucleophilic substitution or direct radical trapping at nitrogen, which are hampered by harsh conditions or restricted reaction modes. Herein, we report a distinct strategy for radical N-alkylation through a copper-catalyzed radical cascade. The transformation proceeds via sequential amidyl radical generation, intramolecular 5-exo-trig cyclization, and intermolecular radical cross-coupling, enabling the formation of two C-N bonds in a single operation. The method shows broad substrate scope, accommodating both symmetrical and unsymmetrical sulfoximines, and good functional group tolerance, providing rapid access to diverse N-γ-lactam-substituted sulfoximines that combine two pharmaceutically privileged motifs.
Herein, we present a visible light-driven difunctionalization strategy for the efficient synthesis of β-amino sulfone derivatives from methylenecyclopropanes and N-sulfonyl imines under mild conditions. The process involves an energy transfer (EnT)-mediated pathway, wherein homolytic N-S bond cleavage generates persist...

Herein, we describe a metal-free N-acylation of sulfoximines mediated by an N-chlorophthalimide/triphenylphosphine (NCP/PPh3) system. The transformation proceeds under mild reaction conditions and provides efficient access to structurally diverse N-acyl sulfoximines in good yields. The protocol exhibits a broad substra...

α-Substituted alkylphosphonates and phosphates have broad utility in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and commodity chemical industries. Herein, we present the copper-catalyzed atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of alkyl halides to alkenylphosphonates for the synthesis of α-halophosphonates enabled by 1,1'-azobis(c...

Vinyl sulfoxonium ylides are traditionally confined to two-electron cyclization chemistry, limiting their utility in intermolecular C-C bond formation. Herein, we demonstrate that reductive activation of vinyl sulfoxonium ylides under Zn/TiCl4 conditions unlocks a distinct radical reactivity manifold. Depending on the...

A metal-free, one-pot tandem annulation of N-(2-alkynylaryl)-N-sulfonylcyanamides with water has been developed for synthesizing 2-amino-3-carbonylindoles. The reaction proceeds via isolable N,O-BF2-chelated intermediates, which undergo Et3N-mediated ring opening. Water serves as the carbonyl oxygen source, as supporte...

A metal- and oxidant-free photocatalytic cascade reaction has been developed for the divergent synthesis of sulfonamidylated chroman-4-ones. This visible-light-driven protocol employs readily available o-(allyloxy)arylaldehydes and N-sulfonylaminopyridinium salts as feedstocks. A sulfonamidyl radical-triggered addition...
