Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: Hospitalization is a potentially stressful experience that generates fear, anxiety, and adaptation difficulties, especially when facing invasive procedures. Objective: The study aimed to develop and validate a gamified prototype as an educational technology to support nursing practice during pediatric hospitalization. Method: This is a methodological, quantitative research of technological production, conducted in Curitiba, Paraná. The study was carried out in six stages: content gathering, textual elaboration, prototype structure development, organization of topics and illustrations, prototype construction, and content validation. The prototype Little Hero in the World of Care is aimed at children aged 6 to 10 years old, addressing hospital procedures such as measuring vital signs, venipuncture, medication administration, dressings, exams, and hand hygiene. The content is presented in a playful, visual manner, with accessible language, aiming to achieve an interactive final product. Results: Content validation was performed by pediatric nursing residents using the Content Validity Index, with an acceptance criterion of ≥0.8. Conclusion: The results demonstrated consensus regarding the relevance, clarity, and applicability of the prototype, indicating its potential to promote the child’s adaptation to the hospital environment and qualify pediatric nursing care.
