Abstract

With the increase in radiation threats from various industrial and defense, there is a need for monitoring systems that provide continuous safety assessment. This research proposes a hybrid smart radiation monitoring framework designed using Adaptive Radiation Threat Detection Algorithm (ARTDA) and Intelligent GAMMA Monitoring System (IGMS). The design integrates sensors such as Geiger tube, DHT11 sensor, heartbeat sensor, temperature sensor, and GPS module to measure environmental and physical parameters concurrently. The data from these sensors are analyzed using an ESP32 microcontroller and then transmitted to the cloud for remote monitoring and alert management. ARTDA assesses the changes in radiation levels and environmental variables to detect any abnormal behavior of the radiation exposure, whereas IGMS performs intelligent analysis of GAMMA radiation and its classification based on threats. Alerts are communicated by RGB indicators, OLED display, and cloud-based notification system during emergencies. With multi-sensor integration, monitoring becomes consistent, minimizing any errors that occur due to individual sensors. The design is efficient and consumes little power, thus being appropriate for use in defense operations, laboratories, industry safety, and emergencies.
