This dedicated review presents the latest advancements in the field of miRNA diagnostics and unravels the contributions of nanozymes in miRNA sensing and highlights two major approaches commonly used for miRNA detection in sensors; assisted through nucleic acid amplification, and amplification-free approaches.
An electrochemical biosensor that enables sensitive and specific detection of exosomes without the requirement of pretreatment steps and signal amplification is reported, demonstrating its potential for early diagnosis of the cancer.
BACKGROUND
The early and accurate detection of miRNA-21 is of great significance for both lung cancer diagnosis and livestock health monitoring, given its conserved sequence across mammals. Herein, we report an enzyme-free electrochemical biosensor based on surface-initiated ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP...

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) represent highly promising biomarkers for non-invasive clinical diagnostics. To overcome the limitations of conventional methods, Field-Effect Transistor biosensors (bioFETs) emerge as compelling alternatives by providing label-free and real-time readouts. However, bioFETs employing canonical DNA/RNA...
