This work generates ECG from PPG by performing a selective, ECG-targeted generative process conditioned on PPG, using a QRS-adaptive forward process together with scale- and frequency-alignment modules that constrain R-peak position, amplitude range and heart rate.
Abstract
Cuffless blood pressure (BP) monitoring is central to managing cardiovascular diseases, and is commonly based on photoplethysmography (PPG) or electrocardiography (ECG). ECG delivers better BP accuracy, but straps and patches make it impractical for daily use; PPG is already present on the rings and watches people wear all day, yet carries far less cardiac information. We bridge the two by generating ECG from PPG: a diffusion model performs a selective, ECG-targeted generative process conditioned on PPG, using a QRS-adaptive forward process together with scale- and frequency-alignment modules that constrain R-peak position, amplitude range and heart rate. This demo runs that pipeline live on heterogeneous commodity wearables—two smart rings (Circular Ring, OmniRing), a smart watch (Mi Band 4) and our own PPG wristband. Attendees wear the device of their choice, watch an ECG being synthesized from their own PPG in real time, and compare the resulting estimate against an Omron cuff, shown alongside a signal-quality index and the running error against the cuff.
BeatFlow-ECG is presented, a conditional rectified-flow model for reconstructing single-channel ECG from synchronized PPG and inertial measurements and achieves the best results among the evaluated deterministic, adversarial, and diffusion-based baselines across all reported waveform and beat-timing metrics.

Wearable devices have made continuous monitoring of basic vitals such as Heart Rate (HR), Heart Rate Variability (HRV), oxygen saturation (SpO2), single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) routine, but the advanced hemodynamic markers needed to anticipate cardiovascular events remain confined to the clinic. Stroke Volume (SV)...

Nowadays, it is a normal practice to monitor patients following discharge not a novelty in research. But most wearables still measure and summarize a wealth of physiology and report it as an average over time, and much is lost in the measurement and reduction. This paper introduces a new wearable we call TAI, which pre...

Abstract Cardiovascular disease is the world’s top cause of death. Short recording times and a dependence on clinical settings are two practical drawbacks of traditional methods like Holter monitoring and standard 12-lead ECG. Two significant trends have come together in recent years: the broad availability of consumer...
