The Concept and Legal Nature of the Digital Trust Environment

Dec 2026 · NOTARY · 0 citations

Abstract

The article examines the concept of the digital trust environment and determines its civil-law nature. The current doctrine interprets this concept predominantly within an information-law framework and reduces it to the identification and authentication of subjects, while its private-law content remains undisclosed. The categories of digital, informational and electronic trust are distinguished. The author proposes an original definition of the digital trust environment in business relations as a system of civil-law instruments ensuring the predictability and security of commerce in digital interaction. Conclusions and practical proposals applicable to business turnover are formulated.
