Oblique collision and multi-soliton dynamics of dust-ion-acoustic solitons in magnetized nonextensive dusty plasmas
Abstract
A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made to study the oblique collision between two dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitons in a magnetized non-extensive electronegative plasma. The extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo method has been employed to derive the Korteweg–de Vries (K–dV) equations describing the nonlinear evolution of obliquely propagating DIA solitons and the collective phase shifts, while the Hirota bilinear method is used to determine the multi-soliton solutions for each K–dV equation and to derive the pairwise phase shifts, thereby enabling an exploration of their collision dynamics. The existence of both compressive and rarefactive DIA solitons is demonstrated, depending on the non-extensive entropic index, qs, with polarity reversal occurring at a critical value qsc. The dependence of the phase shifts on the plasma parameters is highly complex and generally non-monotonic, with critical values and sign reversals occurring for σ, μe, μn, and qs. In contrast, the phase shifts decrease monotonically with the magnetic field ( ωcp) and increase with the collision angle θ. Moreover, double- and triple-soliton collisions exhibit trends identical to those of single-soliton collisions, with the largest amplitude observed for triple solitons. These results highlight how non-extensivity, magnetic field, plasma composition, and collision angle collectively influence DIA soliton dynamics in magnetized dusty plasmas, with relevance to laboratory and space plasmas.
