Identification and Overexpression of a Knotted1-Like Transcription Factor in Switchgrass ( Panicum virgatum L.) for Lignocellulosic Feedstock Improvement
The results demonstrated that switchgrass PvKN1 is a putative ortholog of maize KN1 that is linked to plant lignification and cell wall and development traits as a major regulatory gene and targeted overexpression of PvKN1 in bioenergy feedstocks may provide one feasible strategy for reducing biomass recalcitrance and simultaneously improving plant growth characteristics.
The alpine plant Nardostachys jatamansi is highly sensitive to waterlogging stress, and phytohormone signaling plays a critical role in its adaptation to this abiotic stress. Nevertheless, the involvement of brassinosteroid signaling in the response of N. jatamansi to waterlogging stress remains poorly characterized. I...

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) generates approximately 300 million tons of straw annually worldwide, and efficient degradation and valorization remain critical bottlenecks for sustainable agriculture. Straw degradability is fundamentally constrained by cell wall recalcitrance, which is determined by the composition and archite...

This study systematically elucidates the synergistic lignin conversion mechanism of CDGs by a fungal consortium from structural, enzymatic, and metabolic perspectives, uncovering a temporal division of labor together with new lignin catabolic pathways that provide a mechanistic framework for the biological valorization...
Ginseng (Panax ginseng), a traditional and valuable medicinal plant, is severely affected by rusty root rot caused by Ilyonectria robusta. Xylanase is hypothesized to play a key role in the pathogenicity of I. robusta. Through transcriptomic analysis during ginseng infection, the highly expressed xylanase gene IrXyn01...

Efficient saccharification of lignocellulose, the most abundant renewable carbon reservoir resource, is of great industrial importance. Trichoderma reesei is a premier cellulase producer, but its fermentation efficiency is often constrained by dual challenges: dissolved oxygen limitation and intrinsic oxidative stress....
