Abstract

Type 2 diabetes is a common condition among geriatric patients. Its management is complicated by comorbidities and the heterogeneity of these patients' health status, as well as by their sensitivity to the side effects of the treatments used. Acute complications of diabetes and their symptoms must be managed while avoiding iatrogenic complications, particularly hypoglycemia. Therapeutic strategies and treatment goals must be individualised and regularly reassessed.
