TL;DR

Higher TyGFI, older age, hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia were associated with CKD, and higher TyGFI was associated with prevalent CKD in the cross-sectional analyses and with incident CKD in the longitudinal CHARLS analysis.

Association of triglyceride-glucose (TyG)-Derived inflammatory indices with the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease: A retrospective cohort study based on NHANES 1999–2018

It is suggested that TyG-derived inflammatory indices may hold clinical value in predicting mortality risk among patients with CKD, and in the first systematic comparison of multiple such indices, TyG-MLR emerged as the best-performing indicator, although its discriminative performance was moderate.

Age-Related Trajectories of the Triglyceride–Glucose Index and All-Cause Mortality in Older Chinese Adults

Background: The triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index is recognized as an alternative biomarker of cardiometabolic health, associated with insulin resistance and the development and prognosis of cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the prospective association between long-term TyG index trajectories and all-cause mortalit...

Association of Cardiometabolic Index With Cardiometabolic Disease Prevalence and Mortality: Evidence From Two National Surveys.

BACKGROUND The cardiometabolic index (CMI), a composite marker derived from the product of waist-to-height ratio and triglyceride-to- high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, has emerged as a potential indicator of metabolic risk. However, the prognostic value of the CMI across diverse populations and the continuum...

The association between a novel visceral lipoprotein risk index and new-onset diabetes in middle-aged and older Chinese adults

The global health burden of diabetes continues to grow. While the Chinese Visceral Adiposity Index (CVAI) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) are well-established risk factors for diabetes, the potential compounding effect of these factors is not well characterized. This study aimed to explore the rel...

Association Between Cholesterol–HDL–Glucose Index and Stroke Risk in Middle-Aged and Elderly Adults Without Diabetes: Evidence From Two National Cohort Studies

Background The cholesterol–HDL–glucose (CHG) index has emerged as a novel indicator for metabolic disorders, but its association with stroke risk, especially in nondiabetic individuals, remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the CHG index and stroke risk in middle-aged and elderly adu...
