TL;DR
Pneumatic retinopexy using intravitreal air is an effective treatment for uncomplicated RRD, achieving high final anatomical success rates, however, surgeons should be aware of a higher risk of failure in younger patients and in eyes with round retinal holes or lattice degeneration in the attached retina.
Endolaser retinopexy was associated with significantly higher anatomical success than cryotherapy, with combined treatment yielding intermediate outcomes in PPV for inferior RRD, and no significant association was observed between anatomical outcome and tamponade choice or PFCL use.
BACKGROUND
To evaluate the surgical outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for myopic foveoschisis (MF), focusing on the impact of baseline traction and atrophy severity, internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling techniques and tamponade selection on anatomical and functional recovery.
METHODS
This retrospective cons...

(1) Background: Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) requires timely surgical repair, most commonly using pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), scleral buckling (SB), or pneumatic retinopexy (PR). Surgical practice varies across regions, while contemporary real-world data from Southeastern Europe remain limited. This study e...

PURPOSE
To compare the anatomical and functional outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for primary uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) with superior versus inferior retinal breaks.
METHODS
This retrospective study included 675 eyes of 675 patients, of which 476 had exclusively superior breaks and...

PURPOSE
Surgical management of recurrent corneal erosion (RCE) lacks large-scale evidence, and national patterns of care and procedural outcomes remain incompletely defined. We characterized national practice patterns, repeat surgery rates, and risk factors for surgical failure using the American Academy of Ophthalmolo...
