TL;DR

This study shows that a regulatory element within the pfsR-rsaM intergenic region acts as the primary switch of the PfsI/R QS system, independently of RsaM, and shows for the first time that RsaM is endogenously expressed and functions as a negative regulator modulating the PfsI/R circuit instead of preventing its activation.

Transcriptional activation of plant immunity by salicylic acid.

It is shown that SA stabilizes the SA-binding domain of NPR1 and allosterically promotes its interaction with MED15A, a subunit of the Mediator complex, which provides a mechanistic resolution to the longstanding question of how SA promotes transcriptional activation during plant immune responses.

Deciphering the tomato defense network againstHelicoverpa armigera: From transcriptional reprogramming to biochemical changes.

Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) is able to feed on more than 280 host plants; however, the mechanisms that allow it to persist on such a wide range of hosts may involve transcriptional reprogramming and biochemical alternations which are still not well understood. Therefore, we analyzed the transcriptional responses of s...

Interplay between different SHP/Rgg quorum sensing systems that control production of post-translationally modified peptides in Streptococcus thermophilus.

This study has revealed that individual SHP/Rgg systems function autonomously but that their activity is further shaped by crosstalk involving both SHP- and DNA-binding, and underscore that these systems should be thoroughly characterized at the strain level to allow precise, targeted modifications.
