TL;DR

This study aims to investigate the factors influencing preventive behaviours against brucellosis in Hamadan Province, utilizing the PEN‐3 model to explore cultural and social dynamics, alongside Geographic Information System (GIS) technology for spatial analysis of disease incidence.

Abstract

Brucellosis is a bacterial zoonotic disease transmitted through contact with infected animals or unpasteurized products. Endemic in Iran, it causes fever, fatigue and muscle pain, posing significant public health and economic challenges. This study aims to investigate the factors influencing preventive behaviours against brucellosis in Hamadan Province, utilizing the PEN‐3 model to explore cultural and social dynamics, alongside Geographic Information System (GIS) technology for spatial analysis of disease incidence.

Trends in Crimean–Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in Iraq, 2023–2025: A Descriptive Ecological Study of National Surveillance Data and Public Health Response Activities

Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) remains a significant zoonotic and public health threat in endemic regions, including Iraq, which has experienced repeated outbreaks over the past decade. Recent surveillance data suggest evolving transmission dynamics influenced by climatic variability, ecological conditions, and...

A family cluster of brucellosis in an underserved urban community in Guayaquil city, Ecuador

The clinical and epidemiological features of this family cluster and omp28 sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of the index case highlight the public health significance of B. abortus transmission in an underserved urban community and reinforced the need of an integrated One Health surveillance and control program fro...

Spatio-Temporal Association Between Human Brucellosis Incidence and Livestock Seroprevalence In Navoiy Region, Uzbekistan: A One Health Study Protocol

Background: Brucellosis remains one of the most important neglected zoonoses in Central Asia, with the highest reported human incidence globally recorded in the Middle East and Central Asia region [1]. Neighbouring Central Asian countries report substantial and, in places, rising human and livestock brucellosis burdens...

A nationally representative One Health multi-pathogen serosurvey in Cambodia: study protocol for the RACSMEI mixed-methods study

Cambodia faces a high and complex burden of zoonotic, vector-borne, vaccine-preventable and environmentally transmitted infections, driven by intensive human–animal–environment interactions. However, nationally representative data integrating human, animal and environmental dimensions of pathogen exposure remain...

The value of "One Health" modelling in zoonotic diseases epidemiology and public health.

Assessing the impact of control and prevention strategies on zoonotic diseases in human populations requires the use of formal modelling frameworks, integrating animal, environmental and human data. However, such quantitative "One Health" approaches to guide public health interventions are, to date, overlooked. Their i...
