Abstract
In light of China's "Dual Carbon" goals and the continuous progress of the green economic revolution, many enterprises need to build a green competitive advantage urgently; therefore, this study takes A-share listed companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2009 to 2024 as the research subjects. Empirically examine the impact of corporate ESG performance on corporate green innovation Based on the above results, ESG performance is positively correlated with corporate green innovation. Further analysis shows that the moderating effects of firm size and ownership structure are not the same; a large enterprise is more likely to receive promotion for green innovation due to ESG factors, and this positive association is stronger for state-owned enterprises than for private ones. Theoretically, this paper adds to the existing body of empirical research. In practice, it offers an empirical basis and a decision-making reference for enterprises to promote the continuous development of green technology research and development, drive green transformation through ESG, and achieve sustainable development, etc.
