TL;DR

Investigation of the role of frizzled class receptor 4 in OS progression found that it is highly expressed in OS and is associated with poor prognosis, and miR-424-5p can regulate these tumor-promoting effects by targeting FZD4.

Abstract

Simple Summary Osteosarcoma (OS) is an aggressive bone cancer with high diversity among tumor cells and poor outcomes for many patients. The factors that drive tumor growth, spread, and treatment resistance must be better understood to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this study, the authors investigated the role of frizzled class receptor 4 in OS progression, especially its relationship with cancer cell stem-like properties and migration. Using single-cell analysis, clinical samples, and laboratory experiments, they found that frizzled class receptor 4 (FZD4) is highly expressed in OS and is associated with poor prognosis. Reducing its expression weakened the stem-like characteristics and migration ability of OS cells. This study also shows that miR-424-5p can regulate these tumor-promoting effects by targeting FZD4. These findings may help researchers develop new strategies for predicting prognosis and treating OS.

miR-218 in breast cancer: friend or foe?

miRNAs are small molecules which influence cellular function by regulating the expression of mRNA. They control various stages of the cell’s existence, including differentiation, proliferation and finally death. In cancer cells, miRNAs can become dysregulated, enabling the cell to escape growth suppression and resist...

Let-7c-3p Suppresses Ovarian Cancer Progression by Targeting S100A6 and Inhibiting JAK-STAT Signaling

It is shown that S100A6 is present at elevated levels in ovarian cancer and promotes cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while suppressing cell death, and a small regulatory RNA molecule, Let-7c-3p, that directly suppresses S100A6 production is identified.

TPPP3 Overexpression Suppresses Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Progression and Promotes Immune Microenvironment Remodeling Through HSPA8 Association

Simple Summary Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a head and neck cancer linked to Epstein–Barr virus infection. Some patients respond well to immunotherapy, but many do not, and the reasons for this difference remain unclear. In this study, we investigated a protein called TPPP3, which is present at low levels in nasopharyng...
