Abstract

We investigate the discovery potential of a singly produced vector-like top quark $T$ via the $T\to tZ$ decay channel at future muon-proton ($\mu p$) colliders, considering three benchmark center-of-mass energies: $\sqrt{s}=5.29$, $6.48$, and $9.16$~TeV. The baseline signal final state consists of a semileptonic top decay $t\to bW\to b\ell\nu$ and a hadronic $Z\to q\bar{q}$ decay, where the collimated quark pair from the $Z$ boson is reconstructed as a single large-radius fat jet $J$. Full detector-level Monte Carlo simulations are performed for both the signal process and the dominant Standard Model backgrounds. We derive the $5\sigma$ discovery contours and the $95\%$ confidence level exclusion limits in the two-dimensional parameter space spanned by the VLQ mass $m_T$ and the effective coupling $g^*$. A comparison with the $T\to Wb$ channel and with searches at other collider facilities reveals that the $T\to tZ$ decay mode provides complementary sensitivity and offers unique advantages for probing high-mass vector-like $T$ quarks in the boosted jet topology. Search for the rare Higgs boson decay H $\to$ Z$\gamma$ in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 and 13.6 TeV

A search is presented for the rare, loop-induced Higgs boson decay H $\to$ Z$\gamma$, where Z $\to$ $\ell^+\ell^-$ and $\ell$ = e or $\mu$. The search is performed using a sample of proton-proton (pp) collision data at the center-of-mass energies of 13 and 13.6 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC and corresp...

Measurement of $tZq$ inclusive and differential cross-sections in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13~\text{TeV}$ with the ATLAS detector

The $t$-channel production of a top quark in association with a $Z$ boson, $tZq$, is measured in the trilepton channel. The measured $pp \rightarrow t\ell^+\ell^-q$ process is defined for $m_{\ell\ell}>30\,\text{GeV}$ and includes both resonant $Z$-boson production and non-resonant dilepton production. The data collect...

Observation of an excess at the top quark pair production threshold in the single-lepton channel

A search is presented for top quark-antiquark ($\mathrm{t\bar{t}}$) quasi-bound ``toponium''states, near the kinematic $\mathrm{t\bar{t}}$ production threshold in final states with a single electron or muon and jets. The study uses proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment at...

Search for a top-philic heavy resonance in association with top quarks in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV and 13.6 TeV with the ATLAS detector

A search for a new top-philic vector boson ($Z'$) produced in association with a top-quark or a pair of top quarks, and decaying into a top quark pair is presented. The search uses $pp$ collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV and 13.6...

Observation of single top-quark production in the $s$-channel in proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

The first single-experiment observation of single top-quark production in the $s$-channel is presented. Measurements of this process are essential to fully characterize the electroweak interactions of the top quark and probe for new physics, however its highly suppressed cross-section has so far caused it to evade dire...

Next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to $S$- and $P$-wave heavy quarkonium decay to $l^{+}l^{-} \gamma$

In this work, we comprehensively study the total and differential decay widths of the radiative Dalitz decays $H \to l^+l^-\gamma$ up to QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy within the framework of NRQCD factorization. Our calculation includes the decays of $S$-wave states ($\eta_c, \eta_b$) and the $P$-wave triple...
