HuddsTrafficFL: A Benchmark Dataset for Byzantine-Robust Federated Learning in Urban Traffic Systems

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

HuddsTrafficFL is a benchmark dataset for Byzantine-robust federated learning research in urban traffic systems. Built from a city-scale SUMO/TraCI simulation of Huddersfield's road network using real OpenStreetMap data and validated against UK Department for Transport traffic counts for Kirklees borough. The dataset includes traffic sensor readings from 292 federated learning clients mapped to real geographic junctions, anomaly labels, and results from Byzantine attack and defence experiments using FedAvg, Krum, and Coordinate Median aggregation.
