Enhancing groundwater metazoan metabarcoding through primer performance assessment and reference library updates.
It is demonstrated that the primer pair fwhF2 / fwhR2n, targeting the mitochondrial COI region, provides the most effective amplification of central European groundwater invertebrates, particularly crustaceans.
