ZmSk2, a mitochondrial RNA processing protein, regulates maize kernel development via group II intron splicing.

Results indicate that ZmSk2 is a key component of mitochondrial RNA splicing complexes and contributes to mitochondrial homeostasis and maize kernel maturation.
