Abstract

: The rapid development of sensor technology has significantly advanced the capabilities of medical devices, driving innovations in diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring. This paper provides an overview of the current applications of sensors in medical devices, focusing on biosensors, physical sensors, and chemical sensors. These sensors convert complex physiological and pathological data into measurable signals, enabling real-time monitoring and precise therapeutic interventions. Despite their transformative potential, sensor technologies face critical challenges such as ensuring high accuracy and stability in diverse biological environments, achieving optimal biocompatibility, and managing the vast amounts of data generated during monitoring. Furthermore, the integration of sensors with emerging technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and artificial intelligence offers promising avenues for developing intelligent, networked medical systems. However, this integration also introduces new challenges in data security, transmission reliability, and system scalability. By comparing the technical characteristics and applications of various sensor types, this study identifies key limitations and proposes strategies to enhance sensor performance and reliability. The findings underscore the importance of ongoing research in sensor optimization and multi-sensor fusion, which will be essential for advancing medical technology toward more intelligent, precise, and accessible healthcare solutions.
