Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed industrial automation by enabling interconnected systems, real-time data analytics, and intelligent decision-making, paving the way for Industry 4.0. This paper provides an in-depth review of IoT applications in industrial automation, exploring architectures, enabling technologies, applications, limitations, and future trends. A detailed literature review analyzes ten key studies to highlight advancements and research gaps. The paper also addresses critical challenges, including cybersecurity, interoperability, and scalability, while discussing practical applications across various industrial sectors. Insights are provided for researchers and practitioners to advance IoT-driven industrial automation.
