To address the need for monitoring of the operating condition of low-speed motor bearings, a novel noncontact magnetostrictive vibration sensor is developed. A dedicated bearing-vibration test platform is built to verify its performance and practical applicability. An Aner CH28 three-phase asynchronous motor is used to drive the tested bearing and simulate actual operating conditions. The motor speed is set to 10 r/min. For each group, 800 valid data points are collected, and multiple repeated experiments are carried out. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) is used to analyze the frequency-domain characteristics of the vibration signals. The monitoring device features a simple structure and high reliability, and it can identify operating conditions without complex algorithms. It provides a feasible technical solution for low-cost, high-precision condition monitoring of motor bearings. It has promising application prospects for fault detection in low-speed motor bearings.
Detecting faults early on is important in order to maintain the health
of rotating machinery. Incipient faults in rolling-element bearings
lead to the generation of micro-defects which create weak transient
impact signals. However, these are often buried within the
background vibration of the machine and structural tra...
