Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the specific features of artistic mythologism in Balkar epic prose, revealing its constructive and innovative traits and the specifics of its refraction within the national literary context. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that, for the first time, it examines the process of reconstructing archaic models, their creative reinterpretation, and their integration into the substantive corpus of literary works by Balkar authors (Z. Tolgurov, A. Teppeev, M. Kuchinaev). Mythologism is analyzed as an alternative creative strategy that allows for combining historical authenticity, realistic narrative, and artistic fiction within large-scale literary canvases, reflecting the national worldview in conjunction with socio-moral issues and the cultural-historical chronicle of the people’s existence. In the course of the study, a stable set of archetypal imagery and plot structures, as well as an effective mythopoetic toolkit utilized in the analyzed texts, were identified.
