Spatiotemporal Atrophy Subtypes in Alzheimer's Disease: Neurodegenerative-Vascular Associations and Potential Prognostic Value.

Bomarker-confirmed AD comprised internally reproducible atrophy trajectories with distinct cognitive, vascular, and molecular profiles and may complement fluid biomarkers and conventional volumetry for patient stratification and prognosis.

Alzheimer's Co-Pathology Burden on Basal Forebrain Atrophy and Cognitive Impairment in Dementia with Lewy Bodies: A Cross-Sectional Pilot Study.

OBJECTIVE Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) is the second most common neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer's disease (AD), with significant pathological overlap between the two conditions. However, the impact of Alzheimer's co-pathology on basal forebrain (BF) atrophy and its relationship with neurodegeneration and...

Cerebral perfusion correlates of domain-specific cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies

Distinct patterns of cerebral perfusion-cognition relationships characterize AD and DLB, reflecting differential regional vulnerabilities underlying cognitive decline, which may contribute to improved understanding of the pathophysiology underlying cognitive decline and support disease monitoring.

Hippocampal subfield diffusion abnormalities in Parkinson’s disease with mild cognitive impairment: a volumetric and diffusion MRI study

PD-MCI was characterized by distributed hippocampal diffusivity alterations despite the absence of detectable volumetric differences, and subfield-specific diffusion measures may provide complementary information on cognition-related hippocampal involvement beyond conventional volumetry.

Atypical Alzheimer disease: a multi-axis framework toward defining heterogeneity.

A practical multi-axis framework comprising clinical phenotype, AD biological context (AD pathology plus co-pathologies and molecular modifiers), network topography (regional patterns) and tempo (rate of clinical and biomarker progression) is proposed to reduce diagnostic mismatches, make cohorts more comparable and su...
