This review consolidates current insights on Weissella SP, an emerging and underexplored genus of Lactic acid bacteria with unique metabolic and immunomodulatory properties, positioning Weissella as an underexplored yet promising component of next-generation probiotic blends for IBD therapeutics.
Evidence for potential synergy among probiotic combinations, contrast probiotic-based interventions with conventional immunosuppressive regimens in terms of their putative advantages and limitations, and examine the prospects for precision probiotic strategies alongside current challenges are discussed.
