The development and functional testing of the Warehouse module within a web-based inventory recording system designed to support the warehouse operations of MSEs confirm that the developed module is functionally reliable and ready to support the daily inventory-recording activities of micro and small enterprises.
Abstract
Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) engaged in warehouse operations still commonly rely on manual stock-recording methods that are prone to errors and inefficiencies in tracking incoming and outgoing goods. This study focuses on the development and functional testing of the Warehouse module within a web-based inventory recording system designed to support the warehouse operations of MSEs. The module was developed using the Agile method through iterative sprints and provides features for dashboard monitoring, master data management, item registration, incoming and outgoing goods recording with QR code generation, and stock, flow, asset, and turnover reporting. Functional validation was carried out using Black Box Testing based in the equivalence partitioning technique, covering 51 test scenarios across six functional categories, such as dashboard, master data, item management, incoming goods, outgoing goods, and reports. The testing results show that all 51 scenarios (100%) were successfully passed, indicating that the Warehouse module operates according to its functional specifications, including automatic stock-deduction logic, QR code generation and scanning, stock-availability validation, and document export functions. The findings confirm that the developed module is functionally reliable and ready to support the daily inventory-recording activities of micro and small enterprises.
The results demonstrate that the developed system improves inventory management by providing a more structured, accurate, and integrated process, thereby supporting operational activities at Wilda Store more effectively.
