ANALISIS DAMPAK PEMANFAATAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI TERHADAP LITERASI EKONOMI SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 5 GUNUNGSITOLI
Abstract
Rapid advances in information technology have driven a shift in learning media from conventional to digital forms, including in economics education, where students' economic literacy remains a fundamental concern. This study aims to analyze how the use of information-technology-based learning media affects the economic literacy of students at SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli, and to identify the challenges encountered in its implementation. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving economics teachers and eighth-grade students selected purposively as informants. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, with credibility ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that the use of information-technology-based learning media, such as videos, learning applications, and interactive presentations, has a positive impact on strengthening students' economic literacy by increasing learning motivation, conceptual understanding, and student engagement, while also fostering more independent and contextual learning. However, its implementation still faces challenges such as limited and unstable internet access, disparities in students' access to digital devices, and teachers' and students' digital competence that has not yet been fully optimal. These findings imply the need for infrastructure strengthening and digital literacy training to optimize the use of information-technology-based learning media in improving students' economic literacy.
