Fracture-associated ADL decline did not clearly vary across Fried scores, and Frailty informed prognosis; functional assessment remained relevant at all scores.
Abstract
Highlights • Matched comparators distinguished fracture-associated from background decline.• Fracture-associated ADL decline did not clearly vary across Fried scores.• ADL maintenance or return fell from 72.9% at score 0 to 46.4% at score 3.• Frailty informed prognosis; functional assessment remained relevant at all scores.
Cognitive frailty is common among community-dwelling older adults worldwide and systematic identification and targeted multi-domain interventions should be prioritized in aging societies.

To examine the longitudinal association between possible sarcopenia and subsequent cognitive function in older Chinese adults and whether a 27‐item frailty index accounted for this association.
We read with great interest the study by Lv et al 1 investigating the association between frailty and low back pain among middle-aged and older adults. The authors integrated data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study

Evaluated delirium and BPSD longitudinally during hospitalisation in older patients with hip fractures and identified factors associated with improvement in ADL to identify factors influencing functional recovery.
The cognitive implications of longitudinal frailty exposure remain unclear. We examined associations of baseline frailty status, two‐wave frailty change, and mean frailty burden with annual cognitive change and cognitive aging trajectories.
