Abstract
In this work, we explore the problem of optimal resource allocation in an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-enabled edge computing platform. In the existing literature, researchers have focused on developing edge platforms in the presence of UAVs and ground nodes. However, in real-world scenarios requiring temporary computing, such as augmented reality, industrial IoT, and situational events, deploying ground stations to enable edge computing is difficult. To address this issue, we propose a reverse-auction-based resource-allocation scheme, RAVEN, for UAV-enabled edge networks. The proposed architecture operates without a ground node, distributing all computations exclusively among the UAVs. In RAVEN, we aim to maximize overall system utility by employing a unique bidding strategy that ensures user satisfaction and solves the winner-determination problem for efficient resource allocation. We develop an algorithm that approximates the winner determination problem in polynomial time, facilitating practical implementation. We also evaluated the performance of RAVEN through simulations and theoretical analysis, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness.
This publication proposes a definition and a classification of agile software development approaches and analyses ten software development methods that can be characterized as being "agile" against the defined criterion.

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

The results indicate that software engineering work practices are chosen opportunistically, adapted and configured to provide value under the constrains imposed by the startup context.

The perception of the impact of agile methods is predominantly positive, and several challenge areas were discovered, but based on this study, agile methods are here to stay.

Biology doesn't operate in silos, and neither should the AI representation of it. Quine is an early-stage research effort to create a multimodal world model of biology. By connecting insights across biological scales and modalities, Quine helps scientists computationally search a space far larger than intuition allows and prioritize hypotheses before they reach the lab. Experimental results provide important feedback, helping researchers sharpen future research directions. The post Introducing Q…
