The Liminal Ontology: A New Framework for Consciousness, Identity, and the So-Called Supernatural

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

This thesis introduces a novel theoretical framework, the Liminal Ontology, to address the enduring philosophical and scientific challenges posed by consciousness, identity, and anomalous experiences. Moving beyond the traditional dualism of mind and matter and the limitations of materialism, the Liminal Ontology posits that reality is a continuous spectrum of “liminal states of being” that are neither fully material nor fully immaterial. This framework provides a new lens through which to examine the nature of consciousness as a fundamental property of the liminal domain, identity as a continuous process of becoming, and the so-called supernatural as a manifestation of the laws of this in-between reality. The thesis presents a comprehensive theoretical model, supported by mathematical formulations, conceptual diagrams, and data visualizations, and proposes a series of testable hypotheses to guide future empirical research. By reframing these long-standing mysteries within a new ontological framework, this work aims to open up new avenues of inquiry and foster a more integrated understanding of the nature of reality.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Prompt Injection Attacks in LLM Systems

Large language models are increasingly integrated into systems that can retrieve information, call APIs, search databases, send messages, summarize documents, and take actions on behalf of users. These capabilities make LLMs useful, but they also increase the potential impact of LLM-related attacks. The post Prompt Injection Attacks in LLM Systems appeared first on GPT-Lab.
