AI Self-Efficacy and Innovative Work Behavior: The Mediating Roles of Human-AI Teaming, Task-Technology Fit, E-Leadership Support, and Well-being
Abstract
The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the workplace has changed how employees perform tasks, collaborate with technology, and experience their work. This study examines the role of AI Self-Efficacy in fostering employee Well-being and Innovative Work Behavior, with Human-AI Teaming, Task-Technology Fit, and Perceived E-Leadership Support as mediating mechanisms. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data from 317 employees working in diverse industries in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that AI Self-Efficacy significantly enhances Human-AI Teaming, Task-Technology Fit, and Perceived E-Leadership Support. These three factors significantly contribute to employee Well-being, which in turn positively influences Innovative Work Behavior. The results further demonstrate that Human-AI Teaming, Task-Technology Fit, and Perceived E-Leadership Support significantly mediate the relationship between AI Self-Efficacy and Well-being. The study highlights that successful AI integration depends not only on technological capabilities but also on employee confidence, supportive digital leadership, and alignment between technology and work requirements.
