The relevance of the research is determined by the need to improve the effectiveness of teaching Russian as a non-native language in a multicultural educational environment. The aim of the work is to identify effective methods of activating thematic vocabulary that contribute to the development of oral and written speech in schoolchildren. The methodological basis is based on lexico-semantic, communicative and cultural approaches. During the analysis, the thematic groups of vocabulary were identified, a contextual and grammatical analysis of speech material was carried out, and the role of the socio-cultural component in the formation of linguistic and intercultural competence was assessed. The results of the study showed that tasks combining lexical activation with communicative and cultural speech situations demonstrate the greatest effectiveness. The empirical basis of the work is based on the real tasks of the textbook and the results of their practical application in the school classroom, which ensures the applied significance of the research. The conclusion is made about the high pedagogical value of integrative techniques focused on meaningful and culturally determined language acquisition.
