THE INFLUENCE OF LEADERSHIP STYLE, MOTIVATION, AND WORK DISCIPLINE ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE: EVIDENCE FROM SMA NEGERI 1 KAPUAS MURUNG, INDONESIA
Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of leadership style, work motivation, and work discipline on teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Kapuas Murung, Kapuas Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. The population comprised 31 teachers, with 30 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that leadership style does not have a statistically significant effect on teacher performance. In contrast, work motivation and work discipline exhibit significant positive effects on teacher performance. Furthermore, leadership style, motivation, and work discipline simultaneously have a significant effect on teacher performance, explaining 90% of the variance (R² = 0.900). These results underscore the critical role of motivation and discipline in enhancing teacher performance, while leadership style alone may not directly determine performance outcomes in this specific context.
