Dec 2026 · Open Journal for Educational Research · 0 citations

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential of digital learning opportunities to promote social-emotional learning and improve student well-being. For this purpose, an online course was created that was designed with various gamification elements such as quizzes, narrative frameworks, and rewards. The following research questions were examined in a pilot study with 24 sixth-grade students: (1) To what extent does digital training for social-emotional learning improve the general well-being of students? and (2) To what extent does the training improve the school-related well-being of students? The study showed that school-related well-being changed significantly improved as a result of the intervention. The training had no influence on general well-being. Despite the limited sample size, the piloting of the digital learning program for promoting social-emotional learning thus offers a promising approach to promoting the school-related well-being of children and adolescents.
