Abstract

This artifact accompanies the study “Test Co-Evolution and Coding Agent Adoption”, which investigates the relationships between coding-agent adoption, production–test co-evolution, and post-adoption corrective maintenance in open-source repositories. It includes datasets covering 66 repositories, Python analysis scripts, and generated tables, figures, and statistical results. The analyses examine adoption levels, production–test co-evolution, commit-based corrective maintenance ratios (CMRpost), and issue-based corrective maintenance ratios (CIRpost). The package provides the data and derived monthly corrective-maintenance ratios needed to reproduce the final quantitative analyses without repeating the original collection pipeline. Additional scripts support repository cloning, GitHub issue collection, commit-history processing, and commit-message classification. Data, scripts, and results are distributed as ZIP archives. The README provides extraction instructions, dependency requirements, and reproduction commands. The original scripts, documentation, derived metrics, and generated results are released under the MIT License; third-party source content remains subject to applicable rights and terms.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
