AELAS: Agentic Emergency Landing Autonomy System: software and synthetic scenario dataset (v1.0.0)

Abstract

Research software and dataset accompanying the manuscript "Transition to Autonomous Emergency Landing after Cockpit Takeover or Crew Incapacitation: Agentic Artificial Intelligence with Runtime Assurance and an FZ1073-Anchored Scenario Dataset". The package contains a Python simulator (3-DOF point-mass model of a B737-class aircraft, navigation-error model, six-channel transition detector with bounded-influence fusion and an extreme-value-calibrated threshold, and an agentic planner whose routes are executed through a deterministic runtime-assurance monitor), experiment scripts, unit tests, generated results, and the manuscript sources. The dataset comprises 553,500 synthetic feature windows (E1), 1,500 paired synthetic landing scenarios with per-scenario outcomes and 3-s time series (E2), and decision and runtime-assurance logs. Real evidence is limited to source-attributed FZ1073 event annotations and an audit of a public flight record. The raw Flightradar24 CSV is not redistributed. All quantitative results are simulation outputs on synthetic episodes. They do not describe what happened on board flydubai flight FZ1073. This is research software, not avionics, and must not be used for operational purposes. The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Agile methods in European embedded software development organisations: a survey on the actual use and usefulness of Extreme Programming and Scrum

The results show that the embedded industry has been able to apply agile methods in its development processes and that the appreciation of the agile methods and their individual practices appears to increase once adopted and applied in practice.
