A systematic literature review of barriers and success factors for implementing Quality 4.0

The surge in research publications surrounding Quality 4.0 underscores the field’s growing significance. However, while the digitalization of quality management has been widely discussed, there remains a notable scarcity of in-depth research regarding the specific barriers and success factors for implementation. The existing investigations remain fragmented, indicating the need for more consolidated research. Thus, this study aims to systemize the main barriers and the success factors for effective implementation of Quality 4.0. A systematic literature review was conducted. A total of 18 empirical research papers published from 2017 to 2025 from Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases were reviewed using specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study provides a structured synthesis of the barriers and success factors identified in the implementation of Quality 4.0. The findings contribute to future research on factors influencing Quality 4.0 adoption and offer insights for stakeholders. Specifically, the results can support decision-makers in assessing implementation readiness by identifying potential barriers and evaluating whether critical success factors are in place.

The Role of Strategic Planning in Business Success: A Literature Review

This study explores the role of strategic planning in driving business success and organizational performance. It aims to evaluate the theoretical foundations, practical models, and evolving trends in strategic planning, with a focus on how it influences competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainability across sectors and firm sizes. Adopting a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, the research analyzed 46 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 using thematic synthesis. Data were sourced from academic databases including Scopus, Web of Science, and EBSCOhost, with a rigorous selection process guided by predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings reveal that strategic planning significantly contributes to improved business outcomes by aligning internal capabilities with external opportunities and threats. Key components such as environmental analysis, strategy formulation, and implementation are crucial to its success, while leadership, culture, and technology act as critical enablers. The study identifies common barriers to execution, including resource constraints, poor communication, and resistance to change, particularly in SMEs and sector-specific contexts. Emerging trends such as AI integration, sustainability-driven planning, and scenario-based strategy development are reshaping how organizations plan and respond to dynamic environments. The study concludes that strategic planning is not only a performance-enhancing tool but a competitive necessity in today’s uncertain global landscape. It recommends fostering continuous, inclusive, and agile planning processes supported by policy and capacity-building initiatives. Opportunities for future research include examining digital transformation’s impact on planning and conducting longitudinal studies across diverse organizational settings.

Business Development in the Last Decade: A Systematic Review

Business development strategies are pivotal for fostering organizational growth, competitiveness, and adaptability across industries. This study employs the Systematic Quantitative Assessment Technique (SQAT), as proposed by Pickering and Byrne in 2014, to systematically review 58 articles published between 2015 and 2024. Articles were sourced from six reputable databases, with a significant focus on Asia (36 articles), followed by Africa (7), Europe (3), and North America (2). Empirical studies dominated the review, accounting for 40 of the articles, while 18 were conceptual. Surveys (43%) were the most frequently used data collection method, while mixed methods and case studies were underutilized. Key research themes identified include Strategic Business Development (34.5%), Innovation and Entrepreneurship (25.9%), Technological Impacts (17.2%), Marketing Strategies (13.8%), and Policy Frameworks (8.6%). The findings highlight a growing recognition of business development strategies, particularly over the last five years, while underscoring the need for more diverse regional representation and methodological approaches. Future research should prioritize mixed-method studies and explore the integration of identified themes to provide a holistic perspective on business development strategies.
