Abstract

Highlights • CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knock-out of Haacj6 in Helicoverpa armigera results in a significant increase in the volume of the antennal lobe (AL), with no overt morphological alterations to the overall brain structure.• The number of AL glomeruli is elevated from 75 in wild-type to approximately 100 in Haacj6 mutant.• Haacj6 mutant exhibit broader variability in glomerular volume compared to wild-type, while the mean glomerular volume remains unchanged.• Haacj6 is an essential regulator of antennal lobe precise structure and insect olfactory neural circuit formation.

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated loss of FERMT3 reveals kindlin-3–independent neutrophil activity in LAD-III

Mutations in FERMT3 cause LAD-III by impairing integrin function in neutrophils. Using CRISPR/Cas9, we generated FERMT3 KO cultured neutrophils with normal in vitro granulopoiesis, transcriptomic profiles, and recapitulated defective zymosan-induced ROS production. Basal adhesion and chemotaxis were reduced, whereas st...
