TL;DR

Changes in plasma levels of a large panel of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors among workers from a Dutch historical cohort occupationally exposed to chlorophenoxy herbicides and contaminants including TCDD suggest that TCDD exposure could suppress the immune system and that chemokine and growth factor-dependent cellular pathway changes by TCDD may play role in TCDD toxicity and associated health effects.

Pulmonary Proteomic Responses to Subacute 2,2′,5,5′-Tetrachlorobiphenyl-4-ol Exposure via a Subcutaneous Implant in Adolescent Female Rats

Hydroxylated polychlorinated biphenyls (OH-PCBs) are biologically active metabolites that may contribute to adverse respiratory outcomes, yet their effects on the developing lung remain poorly characterized. This study investigated the impact of 2,2′,5,5′-tetrachlorobiphenyl-4-ol (4-OH-PCB52), a human-relevant metaboli...

Serum concentrations of legacy, alternative, and precursor per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances: a descriptive analysis of premenopausal participants in the Canadian CARTaGENE cohort

The findings suggest that exposure to low levels of some alternative and precursor PFAS may be widespread in Canada and reinforce the role of pregnancy and breastfeeding as excretion pathways for legacy PFAS and support previous investigations demonstrating that exposure to some PFAS may be lower amongst financially di...

Human Exposure to Tire-Derived p-Phenylenediamines and 6PPD-Quinone: Associations with Thyroid Nodules and Mechanistic Insights.

N-Substituted p-phenylenediamines (PPDs), widely used as antioxidants in rubber products, and their transformation product 6PPD-quinone (6PPD-Q) have recently emerged as contaminants of increasing environmental and health concern. However, human biomonitoring data and associated health implications remain limited. In t...

Elevated exposure to Benzophenone-type Ultraviolet filters Is associated with increased endometrial cancer Risk: Mediation by key metabolites.

Benzophenone-type UV filters (BP-UVFs) are estrogen-disrupting chemicals, which warrant the in-depth analysis between BP-UVFs exposure and the hormone-dependent diseases and related clinical outcomes. In this study, we performed screening and association analysis on exogenous BP-UVFs including their transformation prod...
