IMPROVING LEARNING OUTCOMES AND CREATIVITY THROUGH IPAS-BASED THEMATIC DIGITAL STORYTELLING AMONG WAMEMBE STUDENTS

Aug 2026 · International Conference on Aplied Social Sciences in Education · 0 citations

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the effect of implementing Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS)-based thematic digital storytelling media on students' cognitive learning outcomes and creativity at SD Negeri Kecil Wamembe, which faces limited teaching facilities. This scientific study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design through the Non-equivalent Control Group Design involving two separate learning groups. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling, while data were collected through multiple-choice objective test instruments to measure learning achievement and structured observation sheets to assess indicators of children's creative thinking. The field-data analysis results showed a highly significant difference in achievement, in which the mean post-test score for learning outcomes in the experimental class (84.20) increased more than that of the control class (70.50), while the final creativity score of the experimental class (81.50) also exceeded that of the control class (66.30). Inferential statistical hypothesis testing proved that the significance value was smaller than the five-percent error level, thereby convincingly rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the research working hypothesis. The conclusion affirms that the implementation of IPAS-based thematic digital storytelling media has a significant positive effect on improving academic material mastery while simultaneously stimulating students' creative imagination in elementary school
